News & Photos
Hi Rick:
Just wanted to thank you for the hospitality and good times at Cabin Fever
on our recent stay. This was our 24th annual trip and probably the the
tenth place we have stayed over the years. Your place has been by far the
best suited accommodations and the most reasonably priced. I love to fish,
but am used to the polluted crowded waters around Chicago. I caught more
bass in two days in that small private lake than I have my whole life. I
have to say you do have some huge but hard to catch bullfrogs as well. We
appreciate your friendliness and your devotion to making sure we had
anything we needed. We definitely want to come back next summer and I plan
to give you a call in the spring to set up a weekend.
We were curious if there is somewhere we could shoot some target practice
next time we are there. There are not a lot of places in IL that you can
shoot outdoors unless you are a member of a private club. We would be more
than willing to compensate you for the additional effort and we are all safe
and law abiding gun owners.
Thanks again and we were impressed with the improvements you had made. That
new pavilion came in handy when the rains tried to get us. Also thank you
for the emergency golf cart repair. Have a good day and a good summer.

Hi Folks! Just completed our Memorial Day Weekend and we had a great time even though we had some weather challenges. Mother Nature dumped plenty of rain and wind on us before we finally got a nice Sunday evening and Monday. Thanks to everyone who came out to support our business.
The next major holiday is July 4th and the activities committee is already making plans to make sure both the kids and the adults have plenty to do. We will be having a kids fishing tournament along with a trip to the "SECRET LAKE". Hayrides and music at the pavilion will also be provided. We will also be providing FIREWORKS on Saturday night out over the lake at 9:15 ! Talk of a decorated golf cart parade for Sunday is also in the works !
The fishing has been good at Cabin Fever. Bass are ready for the beds and Bluegill and Crappie are moving up also. The Catfish have been a bit harder to catch but they are in there and put up a good fight when you get them on the end of your line. Come out for the day and give them a try!
Look forward to seeing you soon at Cabin Fever and thank everyone for your continued support!

Our first month is in the books! Goodbye to April and all the terrible weather. Rain, more rain, cold and windy! Just glad May has arrived.
Our members are planting their flowers and organizing their sites. Grass is growing strong and Dave and Sue have their work cut out for them.
Our new pavilion is nearly completed. We still need to landscape and do the cement but it is getting closer. Thanks Cantrell Construction.
Plans have been made for our Memorial Day Weekend. We have things for the youngsters and the adults so if you can make it we would love to have you come spend it with us. Sites are limited so Reservations are a must. Call early!
Crappie are biting! Come join us at the Lake!

WELCOME CAMPERS AND FISHING PEOPLE!!
The 2011 season has officially started and here at Cabin Fever we are as busy as ever. We have our fish cleaning station completed and we are in the process of building a pavilion for our campers to utilize and enjoy. We will be planning events for it as the summer progresses so visit the "Cabin Fever News" for updates!
The fish are biting and we have pictures to prove it.
Anthony has been doing great on the crappies. The "Dieckow Boys" always find the fish everytime they go out. Chad has had a great start to the Bass fishing season. As usual the weather is always changing and the wind has not been kind yet this spring, but they say a bad day on the lake always is better than a good day at work.
Our permanent campsites are almost full! We have one lakefront site and that is it. If you or someone you know is looking, you need to come check us out.
Look for further info in May. Until then take care and be safe!

Today was a terrible weather day but if you could handle the elements the ducks and geese were there to be taken. Wyatt Wancket of Wancket Retrievers who is also my trainer for Sarge hunted with me today and the ducks just continued to attack our decoys. Shooting was tough with 35-40mph winds but we did manage to take four mallards. The limit of geese came easy and they continued to fly low over our field as we picked up the decoys in some of the toughest hunting conditions I've ever hunted in. Thanks Wyatt and Mother Nature for a great morning at Cabin Fever!

Geese were flying all day. First fog then rain made for some real challenges. The slight thaw has made it a bit of an effort setting up in the muddy fields. Today we only took 5 geese but on the bright side two were banded. Poor shooting kept us from an easy limit. But it was fun.

THE GEESE ARE HERE!! Cold temps and northern snows have pushed geese right down to us. We have open water on two lakes for them but the best hunting continues to be in the fields. Birds are moving around 9 am and seem to slow around 11 am. Hunters back in the fields around 2 pm seem to see constant flocks of birds in the sky with the best shooting from 3 pm until sunset. Load'em up and climb into a heated pit at Cabin Fever!! THEY'RE HERE!!

Another season is in the history books at Cabin Fever Campground. We had a great spring, a very hot summer, and now the start of a cool and early fall.
Labor Day weekend was celebrated with a weekend of music, food, and drink under a large party tent. A client appreciation dinner was provided for everyone at the campground on Saturday night. The weather was great and a goodtime was had by all. Special Thanks to Dave & Chris, and also Tina & Dean for the music.
For the kids we had hayrack rides and took them to our "Secret Lake" for a fun filled afternoon of fishing. The bite was non stop and we had reports of some kids catching 30-50 fish in the hour we were there. Way to go Kids!
With any luck, we will be ready to do all of this again next year!
We have six new pull thru sites that have water and electric, we have also added electric to several of our tent sites. A horseshoe pit has been added and we are now working on a new fish cleaning station with water, electric, and lighting. We have needed this for sometime and I thank the fishing people for being patient with us.
We will close on October 17th, and our opening day will be April 1st, 2011.

Hi Folks!
Cabin Fever has been busy this spring! The warm April weather let us do a lot of yard work and general spring cleanup. Roads were graded and rock was added, six new Pull-thru sites were added for our weekend campers. The sites are 70X45 and come with water and electrical hook-ups. The dumpstation is still available for your use.
Cousins Tyler and Dalton They love to fish
Fishing has been better than average this sping. Early in April several Bass over 6lbs were caught and released. Several Crappies over 16 inches were caught and added to the skillet. Bluegill have been plentyful and are still being caught on the shallow flats. Catfish are just starting to let us know they are still in the lakes. Another stocking of Catfish was just completed. Last year we added Walleye and a few Muskie to our largest lake. We have had reports of four Muskie caught and released. The walleye are still not large enough to keep, so if you catch them, please release them.
Memorial Day is just about here. A adult fishing tournament is planned just for fun. Hayrack rides, bon-fire and other activities will also be ongoing.
The annual 4th of July weekend kids fishing tournament and fireworks are still planned this year, so don't miss that.
If you are looking for a place to fish, camp, or just enjoy a day in the outdoors, Cabin Fever has what you are looking for. Rent a boat, pontoon, or a golf cart for the day and let nature entertain you.
Beautiful Sunsets and Bright stars after dark , along with a campfire will complete your day.
The Victorian House at Cabin Fever still continues to be a family favorite. Lots of room with plenty to do. We have a game room, new big screen TV, 2 large decks, private fishing dock and large yard. Great place for the whole family. DATES ARE STILL AVAILABLE!
You don't have to drive a long distance to find a place to enjoy a day, a week, or the whole camping season. Come spend some time at Cabin Fever!
HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!
 Nice Crappie John
